Our local elementary, middle and high schools are excellent, ranking among the top schools in the state and receiving many regional and state-wide awards. Sierra Community College has a beautiful and extensive Nevada County campus with a large student body of all ages, and is also home to Ghidotti Early College High School.
The Sacramento area, only an hour away, offers Sacramento State University and U. C. Davis. Various private colleges, such as Sierra College at Lake Tahoe in Nevada are close by as well. Reno is about 2 hours away with University of Nevada at Reno.
