Lake Wildwood - Live Where You Play

We are located just a little over an hour from the Lake Tahoe area. Lake Tahoe offers many casinos and an exciting night life with renown entertainers year-round. In addition, during the winter, Tahoe's ski resorts are second to none. During summer, Lake Tahoe has wonderful sandy beaches, as well as bike trails, parasailing, camping and white water rafting. It is a great vacation area known for many interesting shops and restaurants. It's always a great day trip, or more!

Yosemite National Park, Sequoia National Park and Redwood National Park (on the coast) are not far away and are well worth the trip. The Napa and Sonoma Valley wine country is only a two-hour drive away, and offer many health spas and four-star restaurants to enhance your visit. San  Francisco is also a short drive away. This world class city with it's unique skyline and waterways always offers an exciting visit. Ride the cable cars, take a ferry, and visit Chinatown for a great day in the city. We are about one hour from Sacramento International Airport and two hours from San Francisco International and the other Bay Area Airports.

The historic tourist destination towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City are minutes away, with many interesting shops, restaurants, inns, and local wineries offering daily tours and tastings. This area is also popular for its large and varied performing and visual arts community, along with many opportunities to visit some of California's most beautiful state parks, hiking trails, and local lakes. Bicycling is a popular pastime, and our county hosts both the Tour of Nevada City and Amgen Bike Races.

We are in the heart of the historic Gold Country, where the great California gold rush began in 1849. Many interesting sites remain from that time, such as Bridgeport State Park and Empire Mine State Park.

Much of downtown Grass Valley and Nevada City has been preserved as historic landmarks from that time.
