Get Early Warning Alerts & Weather Data
Be proactive during high wind events. Take 5 minutes each morning to go to three “Weather Status” websites listed below to learn if we have elevated fire risk in our area.
Weather Status – keep current, see if a Red Flag Alert might be called
 Cal Fire Weather:
see if there’s a Red Flag Alert for your area

look for high wind/wind gusts

Sign Up for Emergency Notifications
 PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoffs:https://m.pge.com/#registration
 Register your account and then set up your “Profile & Alerts.” Put in your email and all phone numbers.
 Nevada County Office of Emergency Services alerts:https://www.mynevadacounty.com/list.aspx
 For activating “Notify Me,” you must create an account. Use the “Sign In” box to either create a new account or sign in to an existing account.
Add your cellphone number, click SAVE. Scroll down to “News Flash” section and click both the mail icon and text/cellphone icon.

It’s best to create a “managed account.” Input your information for all your landline/cell phone/text/emails. If you need help signing up, dial 2-1-1 for assistance.
