Bill was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska on a basketball scholarship and graduated from Marquette University in 1962. Upon graduation, he entered the Navy where he remained for thirty-one years. While he was in the Navy, he had the opportunity to visit just about every state. While stationed in Florida, he obtained a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Florida State University. In 1972 he was stationed in Alameda, California. One weekend, he and his family drove to Lake Wildwood to view a specific lot. Bill and his family immediately fell in love with the area, and they all agreed that when Bill retired from the Navy, they would move to Lake Wildwood. In the meantime, they purchased Lake Wildwood lots and invested in the local economy. In 1991, Bill was assigned to Treasure Island Naval Station. His wife Carol and their youngest son Todd moved into their Lake Wildwood home, and for two years, Bill commuted between Lake Wildwood and San Francisco.
As Bill was preparing to leave the Navy and move to Lake Wildwood, the position of General Manager became available. Bill applied for the job and became the Association's General Manager in June of 1993. His selection to this position was based on his experience working with others even though he was not familiar with community associations or the complex issues involved in managing an association. His enthusiasm and desire to exceed all expectations were readily apparent from his first day on the job. He has completed all the qualifications and is presently certified both nationally and in California as a Community Association Manager.
Since becoming the Association’s General Manager, Bill met all the requirements of Business and Professions Code Section 11502 and is a Certified Common Interest Development (CID) Manager. His credentials include:
Bill feels that with the Board's leadership, all the community's volunteers who are willing to unselfishly contribute their time and efforts on behalf of others, and the dedicated staff of employees, Lake Wildwood will continue to remain at the forefront among community associations. He believes that each year, new and even better facilities and amenities become part of Lake Wildwood's more than 2,300 acres.
