PURPOSE

The Community Relations Committee is to:

1. assist the Board to promote communication and enhancement of community life within Lake Wildwood and between LWA members and surrounding communities.
2. use forums and other media to promote discussion of major issues affecting the Association.
3. sponsor events that will enhance and unify community life.
4. provide liaison and assistance in promoting greater participation by Association members in county volunteer work and other activities.
5. monitor actions and issues within county government that will affect LWA members.

1. Nine (9) members, responsible for selection of their chairperson, vice-chairperson, and secretary.
2. Subcommittees may be appointed, as needed, to complete any assignments.
3. Board of Directors Liaison, who has no vote.

To accomplish its purpose, the Community Relations Committee shall undertake responsibility for the following actions and such other assignments as shall be made, from time to time, by the Board of Directors:

1. Minutes and roll call of each meeting will be taken and recorded. Written copies will be submitted to the Administration Office monthly.
2. With Board approval, conduct town hall meetings, prepare articles for "The Wildwood Independent," or use other means to promote discussion of important community issues.
3. Select a "Citizen of the Year" for a special award at the Association's annual meeting.
4. Prepare articles for "The Wildwood Independent" or use other media to promote LWA member participation in community or charity events within Nevada County.
5. Promote concerts and speaker appearances for community entertainment.
6. Alert the LWA Board regarding issues that could affect Lake Wildwood community life.
