The sixteenth hole appears at
first glance to be a rather bland and unchallenging par 3. The men's
handicap is 16 and the red/gold is 15. The yardages are 171 (blue), 161
(white), and 131 (red/gold).
From a slightly elevated tee, you have an easy straight-away tee shot to a large, slightly elevated, accommodating green.

Should the pin placement be high in the back right, however, you will quickly find the sixteenth's innocuous appearance to be deceiving. Within the space of a dozen feet, it's easy to find a double or triple breaking putt that even Isao Aoki would find difficult to read.
