Lake Wildwood Diners Club

This letter is being addressed to prospective new members of the Lake Wildwood Diners Club. The purpose of our club is to get together for a casual meal and to meet other residents of Lake Wildwood.

Our club is open to all residents of Lake Wildwood. We meet  February through December, usually in groups of four couples, with a different mix of couples. Dues are $15.00 a year per couple. The dues are used to subsidize the all-membership parties and for mailings.

Club leadership is administered by an executive committee who meets three to four times a year to plan our parties. Meetings are open to all members who wish to participate. Contact any committee member listed at the end of this letter if you would like to attend the meetings.

Three all-member parties are planned each year. These are usually held in May. September, and our annual holiday party in December. For all other months members receive a flyer listing their Diners group for that month.

Late each month a flyer is mailed to members with information about the groups, or party, planned for the following month. The first couple listed on the monthly flyer will be the designated host that month and will be responsible for contacting the other couples to arrange a meeting date.

Our Diners Club has been successful and great fun due to the flexibility and variety of our get-togethers. Most are dinners, but when you are the designated host you may wish to plan a brunch or luncheon, a picnic in the park, or arrange for a dutch-treat meeting at a restaurant.

The host couple usually provides the entrée and beverages and suggests additional items to be provided by the other three couples. The host couple should contact the others by the fifth of the month. If there has been no contact by the host, the other members should call the hosts.

If hosts are unable to complete their groups, they should call one of the committee members listed on their flyer, as there may be other members unable to meet with their designated group. Last minute vacancies may be filled with guests of your choice - neighbors, new residents or other friends. Guests may attend the full membership parties on a space-available basis and by reservation. There will be a guest fee charged for the full membership parties.

All members should plan on hosting two times during the year. It is extremely important that you notify one of the committee members listed on your flyer as soon as possible if you will be unavailable to be a host or a guest during any month. One of these committee members should also be contacted if you encounter any difficulties organizing your groups.

If you are interested in becoming a member, please send your check for $15, payable to LWW Diners Club, to Beth Biagini at 18996 Chickadee Court, Penn Valley, CA 95946.
