Lake Wildwood Aquatic Recreation Club
A Short History
Nobody in Wildwood makes a bigger splash than the Lake Wildwood Aquatic Recreation Club. We are still splashing with gusto in this our 10th year.
It all started in the the summer of 1995. A small group of Lake Wildwood swimmers decided that our beautiful pool was not being used as much as it might be. They thought that changes could be made: the pool needed a heater -- thereby extending the pool season; fees could be lowered and locker rooms heated. This group also wanted extensive water therapy classes for men and women. A club was formed and eventually all those great things came to pass.

In the winter of 2005, we had 89 members and a schedule of meetings and pool parties. The club has sponsored fund-raising events such as “Sale Bazaar”, outdoor concerts, indoor presentations of wildlife in Alaska and more. Funds from these events were used to underwrite expenses for water aerobics instructors, to purchase aquatic recreational items for use in the pool and to assist with scholarships for the swim team. The past few years as well as currently, our means of fund raising is the sale of the “Entertainment Books”. |

Yearly fees are $7 per person or $10 for a family. Five scheduled general meetings are
held annually in the Marina Recreation Center. Favorite beverages and scrumptious snacks are
shared after the meetings. Three evening pool parties are open to all Wildwood adults.
New members are warmly welcomed. Come join in the fellowship and the fun!
